Our weekend started out marvelous with a visit from my friend Erin (or as we all know her, Simba) last Friday night. She flew in from Austin to visit Elizabeth, me, and our families. We spent the weekend catching up, window shopping, and hanging with the kiddos. Simba doesn't have her own baby 'yet'...but she will be an excellent mama! Miles seemed to think so!
Monday after a long day at work Miles and I headed to the grocery store to pick up some fruits and veggies to make his food. (We just now ran out of the food from the first cooking escapade!) I noticed his legs looked a little red and spotty. Well, by the time we got home he was covered in bright red splotches over his chest, back, arms, and legs. After a frantic call to Dr Amy Julian (ah to have doctor friends!) we diagnosed it as an allergic reaction to peaches that we had given him that morning. I try to introduce one food every 4-5 days to make sure we know if something causes a reaction. Who knows?! A little Bendadryl and Miles was fine. I think I was more worked up than him. (Shocker I know)
Bible study this week went well. I volunteered in the children's program and had so much fun! I was with the two year olds and it is such a fun age!! Miles continues to do great in the nursery!
Bryan was off this Friday (why the blog didn't get done!) and we had a great day together! After getting some house stuff done we enjoyed the beautiful day together. Friday night Elizabeth and Jason came over and watched Miles so Bryan and I could enjoy some time just the two of us. It was nice to sit and talk without a baby. Thanks friends!!
Miles continues to get more vocal every day. His favorite 'word' at this point is 'dada' I will look at him and say maaaammaaa, I get 'dada'! It is so funny to hear the sounds and squeals. He vocalizes 'da' when he sees the dogs too. I am sure we have a while before his sounds are truly meaningful, but he surprises us more every day. He attempts to wave 'bye' and I swear he says 'bye bye' too. Genius baby I know. Haha.
Still no crawling, but he seems to be more interested in moving. He scoots, rolls, and flops towards his toys. Luckily he is tough and rarely gets upset when he face plants. He is on his hands and knees but forward movement from this position hasn't happened. Yet. I did some thorough sweeping this weekend in anticipation.
We have so much fun playing ball, splashing in his bath, and reading books. His favorite toys right now are his race cars, a brown paper bag, and a plastic hanger. (He knows we are on a budget. Haha) He is a pretty cool kid. I think I'll keep him! I had to laugh at these pictures. When I looked at the time between shots it was 30 seconds. I think Daddy was tired!
Have a great week! xoxo
