Family...finally

So I have to admit that last week I was a little grumpy about the fact that we hadn't seen any family in a while.  Bryan is working a lot and Miles is growing so fast, I just want everyone to enjoy him in such a fun stage!  But, after a week of seeing my Dad, Uncle Toby, and Aunt Sylvia I have calmed down and have decided to carry on with the blog.  Although, pictures just don't do this kid justice.  Obviously, I think he is pretty handsome and would love everyone to get to see him in person!

I got a call last Friday from my Dad that made my day! He decided to drive up Saturday morning and spend the weekend with us!  I had just finished baking some St. Patty's day treats so we had his sweet tooth covered.  We spent the day playing outside, watching basketball, and wearing our green!  Most of the pictures were on my parent's camera (which may never be seen again as they probably don't know how to upload them...no offense guys!) Dad had to leave early Sunday morning, but his visit was so needed!  My poor Mom is busy with tax season so getting away is hard! We missed her!

Miles enjoyed his 'green' beans for St. Patricks Day!

The forcast for the week was rain, rain, rain, so Miles and I decided instead of being stuck in the house all day we would make a trip to Tulsa. We got to Tulsa in the early afternoon Tuesday and enjoyed a great night with Toby and Sylvia.  They both got to enjoy feeding Miles in a very old, antique high chair that Toby had refinished.  Not sure if you can tell in the picture but it also converts to a rocking chair and stroller!  Very cool and Miles loved it!  We had a great trip!

The rest of the week flew by with work, Bryan on call, and Miles trying to revert to some old night habits (1 am anyone?!)  I was able to get out one night with my girls for a  painting class. Sorry to say our masterpieces will not be displayed.   But we had fun!

We are looking forward to a visit this weekend from one of my best college friends Erin (Simba) tonight and Bryan is off all weekend! Yeah!! Hope everyone has a great week! Love you all. Come visit.

Who needs toys when you have a paper bag?!
Oh okay, we like the toys too

Had to show these pictures from last week.  Braxton came over for a pick up game.

Bryan and Miles out for a run.  Bryan is running 10 miles now prepping for the Memorial marathon in April!

Aunt Tiffany visits!

This past weekend my favorite sister came to OKC for the weekend.  We had a great time, playing games, crafting, eating, and of course shopping!  We also went down to the Oklahoma City Memorial, which was the first time for us too.  Tiffany is loving it in Fayetteville and hopes to be applying to nursing school next year.  It is sad that I remember when she was the same size as Miles!!  It was a great weekend and I appreciate her coming!

Bryan continues to be on internal medicine and we both feel like it has been months since he started (it has been 2 weeks...)  I think Bryan misses being in the operating room and he has had to take call every weekend so far!  On a positive note, he got a pretty high number for fourth year lottery, so we will be choosing his schedule for next year soon!  The next year will include his away rotations, which will hopefully be in Little Rock and Chicago, a rural rotation, and another orthopedic rotation here in OKC.  We will probably be hitting up family and friends soon for some hospitality!! I am excited about what the next year will bring, but already lay in bed going through possible scenarios in my head!

I am sure you are shocked about this, but I continue to be more and more in love with Miles every day!  He is starting to get such a sweet personality!  We not only made it through nursery this week, but he fell asleep in his teacher's arms!  He hardly does this for me!  In my class we are studying about the power of Jesus and I was reminded that although Miles was off his schedule and needed to eat, God is much bigger than anything I could ever do or plan!  This continues to be an answered prayer.

We are sitting great but have no desire what-so-ever to crawl or make any attempt to do so! He still hates tummy time so rolls out of it immediately. Oh well.  I am enjoying this stage, I love to be able to sit across from him and toss a ball.  By the way, he tosses a ball!

And wears his Christmas pajamas in March...

And loves the outdoors...

And always has is socks on halfway...

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and week!  We have lots planned this weekend! Love you all! xoxo

The zoo! (And not just our house!)

Since Miles was born Bryan and I have eagerly awaited the day we thought he could enjoy the zoo.  Although I am against keeping animals in such small areas, I knew it would be fun to take Miles.  Bryan used lines like 'at least they aren't hunted here' to keep me motivated.  Anyway, last weekend was our chance! The weather was beautiful, Bryan was off work, and Miles is starting to notice and interact with his environment more every day.  When we pulled up to the zoo we realized we weren't the only ones with the same idea for Saturday.  As we made our way into the second to last spot in the overflow parking lot we knew it would be crowded.  But once we got into the zoo none of us minded!

Miles rode happily in his stroller and Bryan and I navigated our way to the big animals we knew Miles could see.  Probably the highlight of the trip was watching a giraffe eat a piece of lettuce out of a child's hand standing right next to us!  The sweet little girl offered Miles a leaf to feed, but I hadn't read and studied the habits and diseases of giraffes so we declined (I am only partially kidding...) But Miles got to touch the giraffe and all of the kids were squealing with joy.  I am not sure who loved it more, Miles or us, but it was a fun time for all!  Miles also enjoyed watching the monkeys, goats, pigs, elephants, and flamingos!

About halway through, Miles decided he had seen enough.  He crashed hard!

Speaking of sleeping, Miles has slept through the night all week!  Although his wake up time is a bit early for me...he is up and ready to go around 6 am.  I am not.  But, I am proud of him for going all night!  Sometimes Bryan and I wake up, look at each other and wonder where we are and what has happened?!  It feels pretty good to sleep without getting up in the middle of the night!  I hope it continues!
This past week our nanny, Amy, was out of town.  It was a little stressful, but thanks to friends I was able to get to work on Monday.  Elizabeth and Wilder came through in a clutch!

The rest of the week was fun and busy.  We made it through bible study with minimal tears, I attended my first book club meeting Tuesday, and we joined the Opies at Gallardia Wednesday night for family seafood buffet.

Bryan has been busy on internal medicine and had to take call his first night!  We are looking forward to the weekend and having my sister, Tiffany, visit.  We have decided to do some pinterest crafting to keep us from shopping too much!  I hope everyone has a great weekend! Here are some pictures from the week. It was so beautiful here...80 degrees yesterday!!! xoxo
